Playa Del Ingles Nightlife

There are few beach destinations in Europe that can compete with Ibiza but Playa del Ingles is one of them.

Nightlife in Playa del Ingles

With some of the world’s best club brands, Playa del Ingles is Gran Canaria’s place to party and, unsurprisingly, tends to attract a younger crowd but don’t let that stop you. If you have the stamina to keep going ‘til dawn, then get packing.

There are two main spots when it comes to Play del Ingles’ nightlife – the Kasbah commercial centre and the Yumbo centre. But with bars dotted around the resort, there are plenty of options to choose from if you fancy a change of location.

The Yumbo centre

Yumbo centrum

One of the most popular spots, the open air Yumbo centre offers an excellent early evening scene. Terrace bars pull in the sunset cocktail seekers (try Diamonds Bar) and the daily drag shows (try Rickie’s Cabaret Bar) entertain gay and straight crowds alike with an array of vividly coloured costumes that will make even your best disco outfit feel drab (albeit much more wearable).

Post 11pm the clientele changes and a predominantly gay crowd prevails so if that isn’t your thing, its time to make a beeline elsewhere.

The Kasbah

This commercial centre is literally packed with hundreds of bars, clubs and ‘disco pubs’ offering something for everyone. A star attraction is the big brand clubs, namely Cream, Pasha and Ministry of Sound – Ibiza eat your heart out.

Sizzling hot nightlife in Playa del Ingles

If you’re not in the mood for high-end clubbing, China White is an ever popular option. Hippodrome offers regular and long happy hours and with male strippers and go-go girls, this saucy spot makes for a fantastic group night out.

If you’d rather rock, then head to Relax Rock pub. For those wanting a night of non-clubbing fun, the Zig-Zag bar has a great atmosphere as does Heineken Bar. The Irish Tavern has karaoke, sports and live music.

Beyond Kasbah and Yumbo

It may feel like Playa del Ingles’ nightlife begins and ends in the Yumbo and Kasbah commercial centres, but the resort is littered with good places for evening entertainment.

Linekars: located on what was once called Fantasy Island, Linekars is a sports bar that pumps out loud tunes into the small hours.

Holiday World has a grown up side too with bars and clubs to entertain at night. These include Moonlight pub, which is an Irish bar, and MI Salsa Nightclub, which is a place to get down Latino-style.

The Irish Centre and its surrounds offer a good selection of the omnipresent Irish-style bars. Mulligan’s Irish pub opposite the Irish Centre is a good bet. Inside, try the Hopstore Pub for traditional food, décor and music.

Hard Rock Café is a classic option and ever reliable for a fun night out with food.

Playa del Ingles offers some of the most memorable holiday nights out you are likely to encounter. It is worth noting that most clubs don’t get going until 1am and if you’re going to take the bar touts up on their offer of free drinks, make sure your on the winning end.

  1. There are a few changes in that post as Linekers is not anymore in Fantasy island and it is located in the Plaza Center, and the Hard Rock Cafe is been shut down for over a year now.
